TODAY: Brown Campaign for Burma hosts screening of “Burma VJ: Reporting from a Closed Country”

The Brown Campaign for Burma is holding a screening of “Burma VJ: Reporting from a Closed Country”, an award-winning, internationally-acclaimed 2008 documentary about journalism in a politically turbulent country.

The film focuses on grassroots action in Burma/Myanmar, using footage taken by undercover foreign journalists and Burmese citizens during the 2007 Burmese uprisings (the Saffron Revolution) and weaving it into a narrative about non-violent civil disobedience, human rights and political freedom in a closed-off country.

The screening is TODAY, Thursday, November 17 at 4:00 PM in Smith-Buonnano 106.
